i
This site is dedicated to the history of West Bromwich Albion. This site is not linked with West Bromwich Albion, it is just my way of attempting to keep the history of this club alive As a fan of over forty years it is my little past time , all the information in this site is what I have gained over the years from books newspaper clippings and talking to older fans and my own memories. As you can see I have a message board for fans to discuss any topic to do with the past or present.
There is a shop selling old programmes and as I develop the site a time line will appear.
Hope you appreciate it please let me know if you have any ideas to improve the site.
I would also like to thank Tony Matthews the offical Albion Historian and Michelle Harrison publishing manager with Breedon Books. Also if you are interested in how West Bromwich used to look visit www.west-bromwich-photos.co.uk for some memory invoking photos.

Flight of the Throstle (Part One)
West Bromwich Albion in the 1990's
The 1990's is a neglected period in West Bromwich Albion's recent history. With the exception of the Ardiles year, the whole decade is ignored though during that era of low technology, fences, terraces, smoking and 3pm kick-offs, the Baggies built key foundations of our current lofty status.
Every Albion season has moments worthy of recording for posterity, both on and off the pitch. Football is far more than an hour and an half of passive entertainment, it's about people, family, places, history, social culture-it's a way of life.TheFlight of the Throstletrilogyaims to fill the 1990's gap before precious emotional memories fail completely.
In Part One, Simon Wright (author of 'West Brom's Cult Heroes' and 'West Brom's Greatest Games'), examines how Albion slipped into the League's third tier and escaped Phoenix-like, only after two years of struggle. His narrative is weaved around his first-hand experiences and supported by numerous quotes and memories from players, management, Chairmen and supporters.
These years of fan power and alfresco football are leavened with numerous humourous anecdotes.
Priced at £3.44 via Amazon, this book can be read on Kindle, any pc and most smartphones.Amazon Link
